Yvonne and Andy 🤍
Yvonne and Andy were one of the very first couples to book with me, at my first wedding fayre almost 3 years ago - we love an organised bride! They chose the stunning Isla Gladstone conservatory, within Stanley Park, boasting beautiful gardens as well as the most incredible outdoor band stand, perfect for photos! They wanted their day to be sleek, elegant and filled with fun and laughter, so they came to the right place!
I loved Yvonne and Andy’s theme - monochrome stationery, classic attire, and neutral florals that brightened the beautiful Isla Gladstone conservatory.
My favourite part of a wedding day is always (without doubt!) the bridal prep. There is something so special about being part of those anticipatory moments with all the people special to the couple! That relaxed morning of pampering goes from 0 to 100 as soon as the dress goes on and it all becomes real. Yvonne got ready with daughter Niamh (who had chicken pox a week before!) and her bridesmaids, at their home in South Liverpool. It was such a beautiful morning!
It takes a village! The girls were all made (even more!) beautiful by the brilliant Michelle at Bridal Lab makeup and Charlotte Emily hair.
Yvonne got her fishtail dress from Boutique Brides of Crosby and they offer an on-the-day fitting service. A member of the boutique came out on the day to get Yvonne in her dress and make sure it was perfect! This is the first time I’ve heard of such a service, but what a brilliant idea! And it was certainly utilised, as the seamstress was sewing, preening and fixing before Yvonne walked out the door!
I loved the Natasha Bedingfield ‘Unwritten’ moment Yvonne had with her bridesmaids before the cars arrived! Check out my Instagram for the video!
Whilst the bridal party sipped prosecco at home, my second shooter headed to the Titanic hotel where the anxious groom was eagerly waiting! His son and best man were there to calm his nerves!
Before long, it was time to head over to the venue. Its funny how fast your wedding morning goes! As soon as that dress goes on, it all becomes real and a sudden rush ensues!
Yvonne and Andy had a beautiful celebrant-led ceremony. The lighting in this venue is a photographers dream! And such a blank canvas, that you can truly put your stamp on. Whether neutrals or bold colours, it always looks beautiful! Shelly’s Inspired Events dressed the venue in Gypsophilia and neutral florals.
After the ceremony, we headed outside for those all-important family photos before taking the couple of for their individual shots. Lots of couples get nervous about this part and say things like ‘we hate having our photo taken’…and honestly…same! Thats why I position myself firmly behind the camera lens! But those 10-15 minutes where I whisk you off together is often the only part of the day that you actually have alone! Use this time to take a breather, just relax, catch up away from the madness! Most of my couples end up saying that this part was their favourite bit of the day! Yvonne and Andy were no different, and despite being an October afternoon, the sun shone for our couple photos around the grounds.
The Isla is such a brilliant venue to transform for your evening celebrations. Plenty of space for dancing, beautiful light into the evening and the most friendly, accommodating staff. I always feel right at home at the Isla!
